First appointment

...with Candy from Santiago Wedding Studio.

Yes.

So.

My mom gave me a lift from work and we were off to Bugis Junction. Sophia was to meet us there. We were early, so we wandered around a bit, I went to my favourite skincare shop, Fancl House, to get yet more skincare products. Sophia arrived shortly after 7.00pm.

I tried on heaps of evening gowns Candy thrust at me; some that went with a can-can, some without. I found that I cannot fit into any of their fish-tail type gowns because, annoyingly, all Santiago brides seem to be the thin and petite types. Grr... Question: how many "shu nu" are there in Singapore? Ha ha ha!

After an agonising two hours where I managed to ruffle my hair into an unmanageable state, we picked a pink gown, a purple gown, and a blue gown. The pink gown is gorgeous, I'd like it for my actual day. Purple one will be very outstanding in studio or outdoor photo shoots as it's a colour I've never wore, while the blue one... Hmm, the blue one... isn't quite "it", though it fits well and flatters my figure. Did I ever mention that I don't really like blue colour these days? Think I haven't bought blue clothing in a long, long time...

Might pick something else nicer when the new gowns arrive in October, or so Candy says.

Dinner at Kopi Tiam at Swissotel The Stamford with Sophia and David (he joined us after the gown selection). My mom used her Feed at Raffles card, so we got huge discount for a lovely meal.

Next appointment made for Monday 10 October!! Candy's To do list for me:
  • Confirm MTM wedding gown
  • Choose outdoor gown
  • Confirm photo shoot date

Condensed post

I've been very very lazy and unmotivated and I haven't been posting to our wedlog as often as I should. So here's one and maybe it'll last a while. Ha.

I'm very happy with our actual day photographer Kelvin Koh. I think he's really something else. Not as "Andrew Lloyd Webber" as Benny Ang, Kelvin's understated style is almost perfect for us. Beauty!

Househunting is absolutely painless. As yet. We have nice Uncle Peter doing all the legwork and some of the homework, but Kevin's started to check out the property market on his own too. We're both keeping a close eye on HDB via their informative emails, but we're unlikely to try for balloting or walk-in selection.

As for my gown, I still haven't got down to doing any research, so I think I might just ring Candy at Santiago to get an appointment with her next week or something. With my trusty wedding co-ordinator and my formidable mother in tow, I'm bound to get exactly what I want. Ha ha ha.

Ok, more next time. CSI awaits! Ciao.

Shooter found

Yes, we found our serial shooter. In a corner of Bukit Timah, hidden away from plain view. There he was, with a great disposition and an awesome personality; he's warm and chatty. He's now our hired "gun". 300 "rounds" of photographic mayhem. I believe May got really comfortable with him and so was I.

He showed us the coffee table albums, and he does indeed have a rather keen eye and a good sense of composition and a creative flair. (However, we believe he should stick to his day job of photography and not do any copywriting, at all :P ) Anyway, I'm meeting him this evening to sign an agreement between both of us and to put down a deposit.

He's ours. Muuuuuahahahaha.

On other fronts; after a month of patient waiting, I believe it's time to look into other areas, like Redhill and Jalan Bukit Merah. Had a short phone conversation with him earlier this money and expressed our desire to cast our nets wider now. According to what I understand of our conversation, I believe that we might be able to get a 4rm under 200k. We'll see, Uncle Peter will come back to us next week.
